Leldrin went with an expedition of Adepts 50 years ago beyond the wards at the entrance to Kaer Ardanyan to assess if the Scourge had passed. None of the others returned but Leldrin, and he told of how a Horror had ambushed his comrades, killing the others and he only escaping just barely.

There was, of course, no Horror. What happened to Leldrin’s comrades, no one still knows. But Leldrin funneled away much of Kaer Ardanyan’s treasures and built a tunnel between the kaer and the newly founded city Ardanyan.
