• While out performing his Karma Ritual, Hiyal finds a very unique white barked tree. After some searching and digging, Hiyal believes he has found the resting place of Ardan Yan – the Questor of Rashamon and founder of Kaer Ardanyan.
• Among the roots of the tree he finds an amulet devoted to Rashamon, gives to Drovick for study.
• Ash meets Skreet, another Windling, whose employer, Wivin Akarem, is looking for a group to guard him while traveling in the Servos Jungle.
• Romni is informed by Llarg, the Inn’s Troll bouncer, that he retired after most of his adventuring companions were killed by a Jehuthra. Offers to pay the group if they would exact revenge for him.
• Cricket hears rumors that the local farmers are being plagued by sudden “howling storms”.
• Norish is informed by her Father that one of the new Council Members, an elf named Asendel, was assassinated.
• The PCs decide to investigate the gruesome murder scene and find that Asendel was ritually executed and dismembered. Unknown assailant, unknown motive. Cold case.
• Cricket and crew decide to investigate the “howling storms” rumors. Turns out that a pack of Storm Wolves were passing through when a bitch and her pup were separated from the pack.
• Unfortunately, the mother was killed by a local farmer, but he didn’t know about the pup.
• The pup in its distress kept calling little micro storms. Cricket decides to raise the pup herself; names her Layla. Scolds farmer.
• Norish meets the swashbuckling cavalier Linder. Who claims he will teach her how to ride.
• Training ensues and Norish can now Mongol yer ass from the back of a moving horse.
• While out roaming, Hiyal stumbles on a large swath of tracks. Following, he discovers a large encampment of Ork Scorchers.
• Drovick and Haad manage to figure out that the amulet that Hiyal found is a Pattern Item for Ardanyan. Also, that it is a locket. And once opened a key falls out.
• Further study of the key reveals that it is one of the keys, shaped like a giant Oak, to the fabled Heart of Heroes.
• Haad retells the story to the PCs about the Heart of Heroes.
• Everyone decides to go in search of the Jehuthra that killed Llarg’s friends.
• After a few days searching, the party finds the Jehuthra at the same moment it attacks a human wizard by the name of William.
• Jehuthra slain, party returns to Ardanyan…
• Just in time to see a large cloud of smoke/dirt being stirred up on the horizon. It appears to be heading straight for Ardanyan…in the form of hundreds of Ork Scorchers!!!

• The PCs are given the honorary titles of Protectors of Ardanyan.
• The former guards and council of Ardanyan (known as the Cross of Ardanyan) are gone once the Kaer arrives.
• 95% of the Dwarven population stays behind in the Kaer to continue mining operations.
• 80% of the Kaer’s population wants to take up residence in Ardanyan proper.
• The Kaer Council decides to become the council for Ardanyan as well.
• Over population of residents inside of Ardanyan. A lot of chaos in the streets and pretty much everyone inside the city gates.
• The PCs are given the Thirsty Dragon Inn as a home base and thanks by the Council.
• The council quickly approves building many more buildings and housing for all of the displaced Kaer residents.
• After a few weeks of training, partying and settling in, Norish is approached by her Father.
• As a Protector of Ardanyan, Norish declares she can marry whomever she likes and calls off the marriage to Stephen “Lameass”.
• Galvan asks if her and the Protectors would speak with the Ork herbalist Genna about her missing son.
• The PCs visit Genna, whom is a Questor of Garlen. She tells the PCs that her son and his group of lumberjacks haven’t reported in for a few days and are late.
• The PCs travel a day West towards a part of the Servos Jungle. After a few hours of searching, the PCs find the lumberjack’s camp.
• A trail of blood leads off to the Northwest, the PCs follow. While following the trail they come across a mutilated body of one of the human lumberjacks. Many of his vital organs appear to have been harvested and are missing.
• The trail leads to a cave entrance. Milling about outside are some undead cadavar men.
• The PCs make short work of the cadaver men and enter the cave.
• After winding their way back deep into the cave, the PCs come across a gruesome sight, a Troll Nethermancer finishing some horrible ritual.
• What appears from the pool of blood is a dead ork/horse abomination. The PCs attack.
• Killing the Troll, the Abomination and a few cadaver men just to be sure.
• Unfortunately, Genna’s son was part of the abomination. The PCs burn everything and return to give Genna the bad news.
• Upon their return, Galvan informs Norish that Leldrin had escaped captive in the middle of the night. Two of the guards were killed in the process. It is believed that he was freed with help.

• One of the Elves turns on the others, gives up information on Ardanyan and what he knows about the city and its officials.
• PCs let the traitor go, leave the other 5 elves with Drovick and Ash tied up outside of town.
• As the PCs walk towards Ardanyan, they hear fighting ahead on the road. Rounding a bend they see a human caravaneer and an Ork defending their cargo from Ork Scorchers.
• PCs attack and the Orks immediately flee.
• Human thanks them and offers to pay their way into Ardanyan as his guards.
• PCs enter Ardanyan after some tricky guard sweet talking. PCs tend to stick out with their very out of date clothes.
• After wandering around dumbfounded for awhile, the PCs think they recognize some of the people and places that seem all too familiar.
• They are eventually approached by a local human Thief adept named Tittoo and told to meet him at the Silent Scream Inn.
• When they arrive and mingle, they meet the adepts Wuschwusul, a T’skrang Swordmaster and Caedrus, an Obsidiman Warrior. It turns out that Caedrus is a fellow Liferock Brother to Romni and Basaltimus.
• But before they have time catch up, Tittoo busts into the Inn with a Slavers Wanted poster for the party.
• The PCs can see that a squad of watchmen are on their way to the Inn.
• PCs decide that running is the better part of valor and hightail it, following Tittoo’s lead out the back of the Inn.
• He leads them to a safehouse and explains that a few days prior a bunch of “slavers” were arrested that matched the PCs mentors.
• Their mentors are locked up in the cellars of Ardanyan’s Council House. It’s decided that a nighttime breakout is in order.
• With some fighting involved, the PCs breakout their mentors. Only to find out from their very injured mentors that Leldrin and the Council of Ardanyan are all former members of Kaer Ardanyan.
• Having seen Leldrin coming and going while incarcerated, the mentors believe that there is a secret entrance into the Kaer Ardanyan.
• The PCs quickly find the entrance and drag their mentors back to the Kaer, fighting a few guards along the way.
• After a long walk underground, the PCs arrive back at the Kaer. Unable to hide with their mentors in tow, the PCs make their way to the Council Hall.
• Out of nowhere three Horrors show up out of nowhere and begin attacking the kaer residents. Someone yells that the mentors have returned with Horrors.
• Some residents attack the PCs in the panic. The PCs defend themself and make their way to the Council Hall.
• Joran meets with everyone. The PCs try to explain what happened but every time they try to talk their words come out as jibberish.
• Just as the mob is about to hang the PCs, they spot Leldrin. A very short fight ensues and Leldrin is knocked unconscious, cuffed and stuffed.
• Kaer freed!!! Yay.
